Special Event with Dr. Howard Gelb - by Ellen Finegold

Thursday, May 28th, 2015 was a very special day in the life of Rosenblatt High School Anatomy and Physiology students.

Dr. Howard Gelb arranged for our students to witness the dissection of a human cadaver shoulder and knee.  The invitation to attend the dissection was extended to who all who wished to participate.

Dr. Gelb demonstrated surgical techniques and procedures to reveal the anatomy of these body parts to a packed lab of students and faculty dressed in appropriate surgical garb including aprons, gloves, masks, and hair coverings.  The students were invited to assist in the dissection, ask questions, and probe the specimens with gloved fingers.

It was an amazing demonstration that had the full attention of the observers. The students and faculty who attended were awe struck, enwrapped, and enthusiastic about the event.

We extend our sincere thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Gelb for arranging this incredible experience for our school. Their exceptional thoughtfulness and generosity are appreciated more than we can express.
