High School Students Mentoring Lower School Science Students
Last week Rosenblatt High School kicked off a mentoring program that integrates lower, middle and high school students. The mentoring program will be in full swing next year after HS mentors are chosen through an application/ interview process. The mentors will lead activities including educational and social events creating a unified relationship between the older and younger students. The lower grades can feel like they have older friends to look up to, and some day be just like them. Last week high school students went to the science lab to work with Ms. Gaines's third graders. We were able to bond with the third graders as well as help them with their science projects. We also helped Ms. Golden's first grade class with their experiment. Today another group of high school students went to the first grade recess and led field games for them to play. These past two weeks were just the beginning of the lower, middle and high schoolers bonding and mentoringone another!
