ADL No Place for Hate Banner Ceremony - by Joseph Zeuner

The prestigious honor of being a No Place for Hate school for the second consecutive year was  recognized during a momentous ceremony today.  Attendees enjoyed a special screening of videos and a showcase of highlights from this year's program, as well as an array of speakers' presentations.

ADL members shared their feelings and experiences about their inter and intra-school trainings, highlighting their remarkable achievement in being the first Peer Training Program to conduct trainings in other schools. During the ceremony, presenters spoke about the mural titled The Hope in the Labyrinth created with the advisement of Mrs. Loren Stein, the Random Acts of Kindness Week, and the Flash Freeze at a pep rally earlier in the year in honor of Head of School Mrs. Levine.

DKJA parents Mr. Craig Zeuner and Mrs. Hava Holzhauer, the ADL South Florida Regional Director, spoke inspiring words and words of congratulations.  Mrs. Claudia Rodriguez from the ADL Education Program and Mr. Scott  Nodowitz, ADL Florida Regional Board Chairperson, presented this year's banner. Mr. Zeuner, with sponsorship from other DKJA families, brought the No Place for Hate Peer Training program to DKJA two years ago and has made essential contributions to our club's existence and success every step of the way. The Altschul and Wirtschafter families also brought important ADL programs to our school this year, including a cyberbullying seminar for the Administration and The ADL Education Training: MicroAgressions Awareness Activity, based on MTV's Look Different.

A few students will support the ADL No Place for Hate student organization at Space of Mind by volunteering and attending the all-inclusive prom for those who did not feel comfortable attending their own proms.
